Sustainable development

Since 1892, the Celtique has been an integral part of Dinard’s heritage. This heritage, rich in values and with a history closely linked to its surroundings, inspires us to adopt a resolutely sustainable approach at the heart of our business.

Driven by a deep-seated conviction and a sense of responsibility towards future generations, the Celtique is committed to minimising its environmental impact, supporting the local community and raising its guests’ awareness of sustainability issues.

In 2025, the Celtique received some welcome news, having been awarded the Clef Verte label for the first time. The hotel is one of 2,428 establishments committed to tourism that is more respectful of both the environment and people.

Our commitment at Celtic

Our commitment at Celtique focuses on three main areas :

Minimising our impact on the environment :

  • Training our teams in the challenges of sustainable tourism
  • Promoting soft mobility: bike hire, sea buses, etc.
  • Raising awareness of sustainable and social issues among our partners and suppliers
  • Saving water and energy: micro-filtered water jugs, energy-saving toilets, LED light bulbs, presence detectors, light switch-off devices, change of sheets and towels on request, etc.
  • Sorting and limiting waste: selective sorting bins, no disposable crockery, elimination of single-use plastic packaging, donation of office equipment to recycling centres, etc.
  • Sustainable food: local, seasonal, organic and/or fair trade products
  • Donation of lost property to associations after a year without news

Support the local community and the local economy :

  • Favouring local products and local service providers
  • Support local associations
  • Organising events and activities that highlight local culture and heritage

Raising our customers' awareness of sustainable development issues :

  • Providing information on our sustainable initiatives
  • Encouraging customers to adopt eco-action

Offer workshops and activities on the theme of sustainable development

Eco-friendly habits to adopt at the hotel and in Carnac

As a guest, you too can contribute to our responsible approach by following these eco-gestures at Celtique and during your strolls along the Dordogne coast:

Water : Don't change your sheets or towels unnecessarily, take short showers, turn off the water when soaping up.

Energy : Maintain a room temperature of 19°C in winter and 24°C in summer, turn off lights and air conditioning when you leave your room, close the shutters at night.

Waste management : Sort your rubbish in the bins provided, don't throw anything other than toilet paper down the toilet, use water bottles and cloth bags for your shopping and picnics, refuse plastic straws.

Shopping : Favour local and bulk products, buy organic food.

Cleanliness of green spaces : Respect the environment, don't throw anything on the ground, take part in beach clean-up days, sort your recyclable waste

Responsible activities : Favour 'soft' activities such as hiking, choose service providers committed to sustainable tourism such as restaurants, shopkeepers.

Respect for nature : Stay on the paths, do not disturb the vegetation or animals, respect the flora and fauna, respect private property.

Our partner, Morbihan Tourisme Responsable

Because a hotel is deeply rooted in its local area, we are committed to preserving its heritage and developing our practices with sincerity. Our partnership with the Morbihan Tourisme Responsable association enables us to move forward, step by step, alongside organisations that share our values: respect for the environment, a deep connection to the local area and a commitment to building a more sustainable form of tourism. This is a living commitment, one that is set to grow and be reflected every day in the way we welcome you.
